Acrobatic Gymnastics (Sports Acrobatics)

Acrobatic Gymnastics (previously known as Sports Acrobatics) is a sport based upon gymnastics where a team consisting of gymnasts performs acrobatic moves and dance moves to create different figures. the can perform all routines to background music.
The sport’s main objective is to perform three types of routines.

  • Balance – These routines require holding static in specific formations, such as pyramids or towers, for certain periods. It tests the strength and flexibility of athletes.
  • Dynamic: These routines include throws and catches as well as twists and somersaults. They are designed to test power and strength.
  • Combined – This routine must combine elements from dynamic and balance routines.

Acrobatic Gymnastics evaluates each routine on three factors: difficulty, execution, and artistic. The choreography and music-synchronized moves are the artistic components. Execution focuses on technical aspects of a routine. The Difficulty part examines the difficulty level of the moves.
Each routine is awarded points on a scale of 10 points. The winner is determined by the team that scores the most points on all three routines.
Acrobatic Gymnastics/Sports Acrobatics forms part of the World Games and is only contested in Acrobatic World Championships.
